Most Common Causes of Speeding Accidents
It likely isn’t a surprise, but one of the top causes of car accidents is speeding, closely followed by distracted driving. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Association, in 2016, there were 10,111 fatalities caused by speeding. In addition to car chases, the most common causes of speeding accidents include:
- Driving under the influence
- Driver fatigue
- Car defects
- Bad weather
- Failure to Yield
Speeding isn’t something that should be taken lightly. If you are in a car accident that was caused by speeding, you could be eligible to recover damages from the responsible party and get justice for your pain and suffering by filing a claim with the help of an experienced lawyer.
What Can I Do If I’m Injured in a Speeding Accident?
If you are injured in a speeding accident, or someone you love has been killed because of a crash caused by speeding, it’s crucial to call the police, gather evidence, speak with a lawyer, and file a claim against the negligent party. No one deserves to be injured or killed because of another person’s negligence while behind the wheel, and if it does happen, victims deserve to be adequately compensated. Hiring an experienced car accident lawyer to represent your case provides support when filing an insurance claim against the other party, increases the chances of obtaining damages, and offers a sense of relief knowing that someone that has your case’s best interests at heart is right by your side.
Speak with a Lawyer About Your Speeding Accident Case Today
