Illinois Man Killed by Semi-Truck While Fixing Vehicle
An accident on I-39 in Lee County, Illinois left Canton, Illinois resident Jared Lafferty dead. Lafferty, 35, was pulled over and attempting to fix his motor home at 1:30 p.m. Monday when semi driver Chad Maske, 36, crossed over to the shoulder and struck Lafferty’s parked vehicle. Lafferty was dragged underneath his motor home for around 80 feet and was pronounced dead. Shae Lafferty, 33, was a passenger in the motor home at the time of the incident and is also being treated for her injuries. Prayers go out to Lafferty’s family and friends.
