Missouri’s Troop B Fourth of July Crash Statistics Released
The Troop B area, which consists of the 16 northeast counties in Missouri, has released its 2011 Fourth of July weekend traffic crash report. Throughout the weekend, officers investigated 28 traffic crashes, which resulted in 11 injuries and zero fatalities. Preliminary enforcement totals show officers made around 476 arrests, among those, 9 were DWI convictions. These numbers are pretty similar to previous Fourth of July weekends, but show a slight improvement. This year, officers participated in Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) and the “20-Mile Trooper Operation,” both of which they note for the minor improvements.
Although Fourth of July weekend is over, it is important that drivers continue to practice safe driving tactics year round. For drivers who continue to drive recklessly, a car accident may be the result of their negligence.
