Products Liability Lawyer: HP Li-Ion Notebook Battery Recall
By: Chris Dixon • June 3, 2011
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of around 162,000 HP Li-Ion battery packs. These battery packs were sold with HP and Compaq brand notebooks. According to the recall notice, HP has recently received around 40 reports that chronicled overheated and ruptured batteries, which resulted in numerous burn injuries, smoke inhalation injuries, and instances of property damage. It is recommended that consumers stop using the batteries immediately as they pose a fire risk and burn hazard. If you think you may have a bad battery, contact the HP Battery Replacement Center at (888) 202-4320.
If you or someone you know has been harmed by a faulty product, a Missouri products liability lawyer is available to answer your questions. To speak to a products liability attorney immediately, call 314.409.7060, or toll-free at 855.402.7274.
