1. Fair St. Louis (Gateway Arch Park)
St. Louis will be celebrating the fourth all day, starting at 7:00 a.m. with a four-mile run and culminating in a 9:30 p.m. fireworks display reflecting off of the Mississippi River. The day-long celebration includes the yearly Veil Prophet parade, numerous activities for kids, in addition to an air show and a live performance by HEART. 2. Fireworks Display at Ritenour High School (9100 Saint Charles Rock Road)
The Community Fireworks Display has moved from its annual spot in Woodson Park to Ritenour High School’s football field, for a bigger, and better venue. The celebration kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with a surprise live performance from a local band. Beverages and food will be for sale by the City of Overland police department, and the event itself (parking included) is free. The fireworks show commences after the live band performance.
3. St. Charles Riverfest (Fronter Park)
Want to celebrate the holiday on the banks of the Missouri River? Look no further than the St. Charles Riverfest, which starts with a parade at 10:00 a.m., followed by live music at noon, and a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Throughout the day there are several activities for kids, including kiddy swings, kid-friendly games, bungee trampolines, and a cake walk. FreeBird will be selling food and beverages, and the cost of the event as well as parking is completely free.
4. Bridgeton Fireworks (Bridgeton Athletic Complex)
The annaul fireworks display at Bridgeton starts at 6 p.m., where families can spread out on a blanket with a picnic basket. Live music will start at 6:30, and clowns and other entertainers will keep the kids occupied. Community volunteers will have hot dogs, hamburgers, and beverages for sale, and the cost of the event and event parking are both free. The fireworks show itself starts at dusk.
5. Webster Groves Celebration (Memorial Park)
The Webster Groves area will host their annual old-fashioned Independence day festival that kicks off with a parade at 10:00 a.m. The day will be complete with a carnival with rides, games, and a charity barbeque. Come for the morning parade at Lockwood and Selma, or join the Webster Groves Lions Club for a fireworks show at 9:45 p.m. The event is free and parking is free on the park grounds.
