Work Compensation Lawyer: Earth City, Missouri Fatality

A laborer, Mario Montoya, 43, from the Resource Management recycling plant died Sunday while on the job. Montoya was working to un-jam a box compactor at the Earth City Plant before he was found inside a baler compactor machine. According to St. Louis County Police Sergeant, James McWilliams, Montoya’s death was an accident. After being found and ripped from the machine by co-workers, Montoya survived for around an hour before being pronounced dead.

The company, Resource Management, is the biggest materials recovery plant in the Earth City area. Up to this point, the company’s representatives have had no comment. Montoya’s family, which includes his wife and his four children mourn his loss. A friend of the family admitted that no one from the company has contacted the family to offer condolences or explain the situation. The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration is currently investigating the cause of the death.
